History & Status
Statistically, there are about 50,000 choreographers in the United States and more than 500,000 all over the world. No U.S. association or world organization addresses and specifically serves the needs of choreographers. As a result, choreographers are disconnected and lack a platform for sharing common interests, resources, and representation as community.
THE INTERNATIONAL CONSORTIUM FOR ADVANCEMENT IN CHOREOGRAPHY, INC.
was registered and certified as a corporation on May 21, 2015, in Washington, D.C., the United States of America. On July 21, 2015, the organization was recognized with a determination letter by the U.S. government’s Internal Revenue Service (IRS) as a 501(c)3 charitable organization. Dance ICONS officially opened on leap day, February 29, 2016.

is the International Choreographers’ Organization and Networking Services –
and Dance ICONS, Inc. is the official registered trade name of the organization.
