FILMS ON CHOREOGRAPHY & CHOREOGRAPHERS:
These Violent Delights, by Scottish Ballet, a feature-length film, is “an engrossing dance riff” on Romeo and Juliet, writes Peter Bradshaw. The film premiered at the Edinburgh International Film Festival before its UK theatrical release in October, 2026.
SCREENINGS AND INFORMATION: https://tullstories.co.uk/films/these... Having established a name for creating innovative dance on stage, Scottish Ballet’s These Violent Delights is their first major feature-length film. Juliet awakens from a fever dream. How did we get here? The lines between hallucination and memory blur as cinema and dance collide in a kaleidoscopic journey of belonging, defiance, and self-discovery. In this vivid, contemporary retelling without words, fate is rewritten on the dancefloor. Director: Christopher Hampson & Oscar Sansom; Country: UK; Year: 2025; Duration: 1 hour 10 minutes; Genre: Dance/performance; Language: English/No dialogue; Production Company: Scottish Ballet & Forest of Black; Cert: 15
