Dance ICONS - The Global Network for Choreographers will also be used as a branding name of the International Consortium for Advancement in Choreography, Inc. Its moniker, Dance ICONS, draws from a creative abbreviation of the first two words of its business title, and emphasizes the important role of master choreographers who move the art form forward.
Dance ICONS’ mission is to serve choreographers of all ages, dance genres, nationalities and levels of experience. Dance ICONS is growing as an educational organization and professional association for choreographers, offering an online cloud-based platform for information and knowledge exchange, resources, debate, mentorship, collaboration, inspiration, and networking worldwide. We are currently working on a new textbook on dance composition, which integrates a groundbreaking 21st-century methodology for the practice and teaching of choreography.
Dance ICONS’ global representatives and national directors of operations are gradually being engaged in 81 countries throughout the world. They are in charge of reporting substantial choreographic events and updates to the Dance ICONS headquarters in Washington, D.C. They will provide advocacy for choreographers and choreography, recruit members, and coordinate efforts between different choreographic platforms, events, and individuals in their home countries.
Dance ICONS' business model and goals are to become a self-sufficient entity by generating a massive gathering of members for our global resources, as well as engaging philanthropists and supporters from the corporate and private sectors. Dance ICONS is a unique artistic and educational charitable organization equipped for the 21st century, reaching out to young and established professional artists all over the world - both digitally and live!
